THE ELIJAH REVOLUTION

In July of 1999, the Messianic Jewish Association of America [MJAA] sponsored the Messiah'99 conference in conjunction with the Young Messianic Jewish Alliance [YMJA] and the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues. The conference speakers included Rick Joyner of MorningStar Ministries, Stephen Strang, editor of ‘Charisma’ Magazine and Stephen Katz, a recruiter for Jews for Jesus. Rick Joyner’s prophecy revealed the divine plan for a "Revolution in the Church” and the need for Messianic Jews to help reform the Church. Revolution is not a new subject for this modern prophet, but the venue of Joyner’s latest prophecy of a revolution in the Church is revealing. Compare:

The Harvest [Dec. 1989]: "What is about to come upon the earth is not just a revival, or another awakening; it is a veritable revolution. The vision was given in order to begin to awaken those who are destined to radically change the course, and even the very definition of Christianity. The dismantling of organizations and disbanding of some works will be a positive and exhilarating experience for the Lord's faithful servants. A great company of prophets, teachers, pastors and apostles will be raised up with the spirit of Phineas." [1]

Messiah '99: “I believe if you become like the Church something is lost. Listen, there’s a whole lot that the Church, believe me, I really believe there must be a revolution. I don’t believe the Church is anything close to what we’re called to be either. I’m speaking as a member of the Church. I believe I have the right to say that. . .There is a revolution going on in the Church too. Believe me something awesome is taking place. There are rumblings going on. I mean there’s one thing to have a revival and that’s wonderful. But we‘re talking about a revolution. We’re talking about the Reformation isn’t over. The Reforming. I believe it’s just beginning in many ways. And you know what? We can look and say it took 500 years for the Reformation to do this much and that isn’t much.” [2]

When Rick Joyner initially prophesied a Revolution in the Church, he spoke of dismantling present Church structures. However, [we assume] God had not yet revealed to him the nature of this revolution and the course it would take, or “what” the Church would become in the aftermath. Now, it has pleased God to make that direction clear to his prophet, Joyner, who has confided his vision of the New Church and how to get there to the assembly of Messianic Jews.

Not privy to the heavenly revelations received by the anointed company of the modern prophets, the average Christian is left to speculate as to the nature of the New Church. However, there are important clues scattered along the path of the various movements afoot indicating what we may expect, as well as the drastic measures that will be taken to move the sheep out of their comfortable pasture onto an unfamiliar terrain. This series of reports will examine the seemingly varied and diverse heretical streams on the Christian landscape and locate the final point where, incredibly, all will converge in a religious system that represents the IDEAL of each one. In "Paradigm Shifts for the 21st Century", Jim Goll of Ministry to the Nations describes this convergence as The Great Revolution:

"A convergence of the ages shall come upon us. The anointing of the Pentecostal Fire, the Healing and Deliverance Crusades, the Latter Rain Presence, the Evangelical Burden for the Lost, the Charismatic Giftings, the Third Wave Credibility, the Revelation of the Prophetic Movement and the relational networking of the Apostolic Reformation shall all merge together
into a tidal wave that will eclipse the impact of reformation of 500 years ago and create what could be called The Great Revolution.

"The Lord will give the church an opportunity to re-write her stained and spotted history. Radical deeds of identificational repentance, acts of mercy to the poor and the oppressed, presence and power encounters to the sick and the demonized, warrior praise and intercession arising over cities will mount as a Revolution comes upon the global body of Christ and creating a great societal awakening! If history books are written of the years that lie ahead, they might be termed The Days of His Glorious Presence."

THE GREAT REVOLUTION

In "The Harvest," Rick Joyner disclosed that in the forthcoming revolution an "army" will remove those -- labeled stumbling blocks -- who refuse the unity teachings of the modern prophets. According to Joyner, “. . .to remove the stumbling blocks . . . a great company of prophets, teachers, pastors and apostles will be raised up with the spirit of Phinehas.”. After this revolution in the Church, “very young Christians will be pastoring large bodies of believers”:

". . .Some pastors and leaders who continue to resist this tide of unity will be removed from their place. Some will become so hardened they will become opposers and resist God to the end. Most will be changed and will repent of their resistance. . . . There will be many 'stumbling blocks' circulating in the Church that will cause confusion and some destruction from time to time. They will perceive themselves as prophets sent to judge and deliver. Those serving in leadership must trust their discernment and remove the stumbling blocks.

"To be distinguished from the 'stumbling blocks,' a great company of prophets, teachers, pastors and apostles will be raised up with the spirit of Phinehas. Just as the son of Eleazar could not tolerate iniquity in the camp of the Lord, this 'ministry of Phinehas' will save congregations, and at times even whole nations from the plagues that will be sweeping the earth. They will be moved by the jealousy of the Lord for the purity of His people. They will be sent to save and preserve the work of the Lord, not tear down, as the stumbling blocks do. . . Huge masses of people will be streaming to the Lord, the inflow so great in places that very young Christians will be pastoring large bodies of believers. Arenas and stadiums will overflow nightly as the believers come together to hear the apostles and teachers.

". . .Extraordinary miracles will be common while those considered great today will be performed almost without notice by young believers. Angelic appearances will be common to the saints and a visible glory of the Lord will appear upon some for extended periods of time as power flows through them. . . .Those in leadership will be the most humble of all. When anyone presumes leadership without calling, it will be apparent to all.

"This harvest will be so great that no one will look back at the early Church as a standard; all will be saying that the Lord has certainly saved His best wine for last. The early Church was a firstfruits offering; truly this will be a harvest! It was said of the Apostle Paul that he was turning the world upside down; it will be said of the apostles soon to be anointed that they have turned an upside down world right side up. Nations will tremble at the mention of their name. . ." [3]

Another modern prophet of Rick Joyner’s caliber is Bob Jones (not to be confused with Bob Jones III, president of Bob Jones University). Jones was one of the Kansas City Prophets before becoming involved in an indiscretion, after which John Wimber of the Vineyard Fellowship forgave Jones, allowed him to continue ministry and adopted the Kansas City Church into the Vineyard. Bob Jones taught that God was preparing a "special breed" comprised of young people up to the age of thirty. In his book, Blessing the Church?, Clifford Hill wrote of Jones’ confidence that this younger generation will “take control of the world and present the kingdom to Christ on his return.”

"Jones believed that the generation of children born since 1973 would form the final generation of believers whom God was preparing as the Bride of Christ to take control of the world and present the kingdom to Christ on his return. He [Jones] continued, 'I do believe what he's beginning to do is a restoration of his very nature down here. Your children will come behind you and they'll start on your level of righteousness and holiness and they'll take off from there.'"[4]

Pioneer of the Latter Rain Revival, Paul Cain, described the supernatural powers that will distinguish the new breed, -- a "dreadful, fearful army of champions.”

"God's strange act is going to bring a new order of things and bring a new breed in and bring a transformation."

"Little children are going to lay their hands on the sick and heal multitudes . . .We are going to be just like the Lord. . .They're going to say, 'Here comes that dreadful, fearful army of champions. Here comes those with a word of knowledge, the word of wisdom, the working of miracles, with a healing ministry, with the power to heal the sick and raise the dead, with the power to know what's going on behind the Iron Curtain.' You're really going to be a fearsome group before this thing's all over." [5]

John Wimber, founder of the Vineyard Movement, also launched the Signs and Wonders movement based on the concept that manifestations of supernatural power are necessary to authenticate the gospel. Wimber had a vision of an up and coming "army" of "dread champions" upon which would be unleashed a power of “unprecedented magnitude.”

"God has given us a vision to see the body of Christ move from being an inactive audience to a Spirit-filled army . . . God is about to unloose a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit of an unprecedented magnitude . . . He is looking for individuals who will be 'dread champions' for his cause." [6]

Restorationists, who maintain that the Church has been lost and must be restored, and Dominionists, who believe that the Church must reign on earth, teach that a great army of end-time saints is prophesied in Joel 2 and that “Joel’s Army”will be called upon by heads of state to "police" the nations with supernatural power. According to John Wimber and Paul Cain, before Christ returns, this company of mere youths will conquer the nations, having authority to dispense judgment on the ungodly and those who reject their leadership:

"It is also interesting to see how Cain used prophecy to confirm the Latter Rain teaching that evangelization would result from the supernatural power which was going to be given to believers. This teaching was central to Wimber's message. In the same speech Paul Cain prophesied that the new breed would possess power to overcome the enemies of the gospel and strike terror into them, 'There's going to be an awesome, reverential fear and respect for the church because the church is going to regain her power, lose her restrictions, lose her weakness . . . you're going to be called upon by presidents and kings of nations, heads of state. . . God is going to have his army and they are going to be a fearful bunch and they are going to go to every place on the face of the earth. . ." [7]


NEWS FLASH!

The time frame for the ascendance of Joel’s Army to power has been given in a prophecy to Peter Wagner's Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders:

"The church will be in key transition period between 2000-2003. During this period the youth in particular will be transitioning into revival."[8]

On this Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders is the co-founder of Generals of Intercession, Cindy Jacobs. On August 14, 2000, Jacobs issued “A Prophetic Call to Revolution” to Christian youth. This prophecy foretold that certain churches would become official “command posts for revolution” and that God now was calling “radical revolutionaries to the church.”

“For I would say to you, My children there is a page turning in the heavenlies, and at the top of this page I have one word, and it's 'revolution.' And I am getting ready to write a new page of history among the believers of this nation.

“For there is a radical sound that I have issued - there is a sound that has come from heaven, and it even now has come to earth. And the Lord says, these are going to be days where I am going to trouble the enemy through you. These are going to be different days than you have ever known, and I am going to require sacrifice of you that you cannot imagine. I am going to require a sacrifice of your children, says the Lord. And the Lord says, I'm going to shake everything that can be shaken. . .

“For I would say to you, my children, you are going to come out of the wilderness. And I have found a Caleb generation, says the Lord, who say we are well able to take the mountain, we are well able to take those strongholds that have been built in the nearly 40 years in this nation, since prayer has been taken out of school.

“There are churches that will be command posts for revolution, and to these command posts I would say, I am going to bring a revolution. Look and see; I am calling radical revolutionaries to the church. There is a sound going forth from heaven, says the Lord. I am calling from the north and the south and the east and the west. They're going to move, they're going to change universities to come to these command posts. They're going to change jobs. I'm going to bring the 18, 19, 20, 21 year olds, and they're going to mentor the generation under them. And then the high schoolers are going to mentor the generations under them.

“And I would say, these youth are going to put the adults to shame. Because they're going to be full of holy passion, a fiery passion for the Lord. So the Lord says, get ready for I have said many things over the church, and I have made many promises. With some of you, hope deferred has made the heart grow sick. But I have found the way for the church and for this youth, says the Lord. And the Lord says, there is going to be a day when there are as many youth as adults in these command post churches, for I am going to move-I would not pass you by.

“And the Lord says I'm going to put the gift of evangelism in the youth of these churches. I'm going to cause them to bring souls, and souls and souls. They're going to invade the high school campuses. They're going to invade the universities of their cities.

“And the Lord says, I am calling for an invasion from these churches, from my command posts. And the Lord says get ready, get ready, get ready, for it begins today.” [9] 

THE CALL, D.C.

Three weeks after this prophecy, a massive youth gathering was held in Washington, D.C. On September 2, 2000, 75,000 to 100,000 teenagers and young adults assembled on the Washington Mall to “start a revolution.” According to Intercessors for America, THE CALL, D.C. received favorable coverage in the Washington Post.

"’PRAYERS ON THE MALL’ AND ‘YOUNG CHRISTIANS LEAD CALL FOR SPIRITUAL REBIRTH’ HEADLINED THE CALL DC NEWS -- The Sept. 3 Washington Post headlines show that your prayers were definitely answered in a big way. Many reporters wrote in terms of ‘tens of thousands of Christian youth’ gathering on the Mall last Saturday, and size estimates vary - from 75,000 to 100,000 or more. The Washington Post accounts noted that the rounds of repentance and concerted prayer called for reconciliation between children and parents, an end to abortion and sexual immorality, the return of prayer in schools, a call to fasting and loving evangelism, personal commitment to purity and radical Nazarite-type lifestyles, and the sparking of a "new spiritual revolution." Most in attendance fasted for the entire day.”[10]

The Call, D.C. was originally advertised as "a gathering of fasting youth [ages 14-24] to converge on the Washington Mall on September 2, 2000." Later in the campaign, The Call, D.C. was billed as "a massive gathering of two generations who are desperate for revival . . .A historic gathering of children, youth and their parents." Like the Promise Keepers, The Call, D.C. was a "solemn assembly":

THE CALL is a solemn assembly.
The Call DC is a response to the urgent summons in Joel 2:15-18, given at a time of crisis. "Declare a holy fast … Call a sacred assembly … bring together the elders, gather the children." The vision is to call a solemn assembly of Christian young people and their parents to fast and pray for repentance and revival in our nation. The program will also include speakers and worship, and will last from dawn until dusk (6:00 am to 6:00 pm). We expect youth, their youth leaders, parents and significant adults in their lives to attend. It is non-denominational. People of all races, ethnic groups and social backgrounds will attend.

THE CALL is about reconciliation between generations - adults and children.
America's youth are facing their darkest hour. Beyond the Columbine massacre and the Wedgewood Baptist Church shootings, we are seeing a whole generation under satanic attack. Eighty-eight percent of America's more than 30 million teenagers are unchurched. Of the 12 percent who do currently attend church, 80 percent will stop attending before they graduate from high school. Surveys show that 90 percent of people who give their lives to Christ do so before the age of 30.

At every critical turning point in the Old Testament, we see a call to the nation of Israel for prayer and fasting. We believe that in order for America to experience revival, we must see the fulfillment of Malachi 4:6. One of The Call's main purposes is to see God "turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and turn the hearts of the children to their fathers." We are asking for the fathers' blessing on the youth of America. [11]

The Call DC

"Yet the rumbles of revival can be heard, the distant sounds of a spiritual downpour that will bring a massive harvest. At a time when the voice of the church has been drowned out by the blare of talk shows and video games, the youth of this nation have been shaken to their core by the courage of young martyrs in places like Columbine and Wedgewood. There is a stirring in campuses and high schools. Young people are fasting, praying, evangelizing with a new passion. And now The Call has gone out - a summons to those who are desperate for revival and are willing to fast and pray to see God touch our nation.
"The Call DC is a response to the summons in Joel 2:15-18, "Declare a holy fast… Call a sacred assembly . . . bring together the elders, gather the children." A historic gathering of children, youth and their parents will occur at the Washington, DC Capitol Mall, September 2, 2000. Here, in the same place, a million men gathered three years ago to renew covenant - with their families and with God. But every generation must renew the covenant for themselves and now is the time for the next generation to do so. Just as the godly fathers of America gathered, so too must their children.
"The nation that has broken families and fatherless children is under a curse (Malachi 4:6). For revival to come, we need to see a profound reconciliation between parents and their children. One of The Call's main purposes is to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers.
"Revival has always been with the young. And it will be so again. Our campuses and schools have been the birthplaces of revival before -- may it happen again! In this season of harvest, let us gather to commission our youth with a mandate for this millenium and commit ourselves to mentor and equip them. . ." [12]

Revolution was the theme of The Call, D.C. To attract large numbers of teenagers to The Call, D.C., the original website was billed as "a repository for propaganda to support a national youth revolution against the status quo." The Call, D.C. Home Page displayed the image of a shirtless male with attitude (reminiscent of Abercrombie & Fitch porno-types) and background graffiti. Church bulletin inserts were offered that displayed pictures of youths with writing on their foreheads. [See The Mark of the Beast and The Mark: Tattoos and Branding]

The origins of The Call, D.C. can be traced to the U.S. Center for World Missions [USCWM] – an offshoot of Fuller Seminary -- and their Harvest Rock Church, whose pastor is Che Ahn, President of The Call, D.C. Lou Engle, a pastor at Che Ahn’s Harvest Rock Church is founder of The Call, D.C., Call, D.C. Executive Director for Mobilization of Youth and Vice President of Rock the Nations. Engle used the term “Extreme Youth” to describe the up and coming generation who were inspired -- not by the Holy Spirit -- but by video, audio, posters, etc. to "GO TO DC and start another Jesus Movement".

"Could another Jesus Movement happen today? God's summons is out. Multitudes have heard The Call to assemble in Washington, DC to fast and pray. I'm taking back my land. Now that's revolutionary. BOOKMARK THIS PAGE AND RETURN EVERY WEEK -- This area of the web site will be a repository for propaganda to support a national youth revolution against the status quo. There will be testimonies, video, audio, posters, book and article reprints that will be an inspiration to GO TO DC and start another Jesus Movement. . . Throughout the scriptures, in times of great crisis, God called for huge gatherings of fasting, repentance and covenant renewal. We either believe it or we don't. Joel's trumpet is sounding THE CALL once more, "Declare a holy fast. CALL a sacred assembly. Bring together the elders. Gather the children… and let them cry 'spare thy people oh God" … And AFTERWARDS, I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh...and all who call on the Lord will be saved." The universal fast precedes the universal outpouring!

"God is summoning the holy youth of America to appear before Him. GO TO DC to fast, pray, reconcile and then be sent out to change the world through a massive youth revolution.

"TheCallDC is a massive gathering of Extreme Youth who are willing to fast and pray to create a violent spiritual shift in the destiny of America. Truly Revolutionary. [Revolution: when people make personal sacrifices for a cause -- everything else is just a campaign.]"

"Will Work for Revolution" T-Shirts . . . can be purchased for $15 at TheCall DC booth on Independence Ave."

Underground Propaganda still provides "cool banners" and locker posters for advertising The Call, D.C. on websites. One animated banner displaying teens carrying a sign stating "WILL WORK FOR REVOLUTION!" metamorphoses to announce: "the jesus revolution continues. . ." Another banner states "same movement . . .cuter hair" -- alternating pictures of long-haired hippie vs. updated punk style.[13]

Seeking parental guidance for attendance at The Call, DC was not encouraged; instead, young people were urged to persuade parents to permit them to attend an event which they might otherwise discern as unbiblical:

Having circumvented the Holy Spirit's leading through parental discretion and guidance of their children, The Call, D.C. Executive Director, Lou Engle, had the audacity to state that this event -- in conjunction with the Promise Keepers Sacred Assembly of October 4, 1997 -- will be the fulfillment of Malachi 4:5-6.

"According to Engle, the PromiseKeepers gathering represented the turning of the hearts of the fathers to the children. Now, three years later, The Call is set to represent before God's throne the turning of the hearts of children to their fathers." [Generals of Intercession News]

"I believe that a massive spiritual earthquake occurred, at the Promise Keepers event in Washington D.C., as the fathers turned their hearts to the children, I believe, the curse began breaking over America. That event was a hinge upon which the doors of history opened."

". . .the Lord [is] now summoning [youth] to respond, to be the counterpart to the PK rally: a million young people on the D.C. Mall!. There would be the turning of the hearts of the children to the fathers. . .A national blessing or curse is decided by this change of heart or the lack of it. This is the Elijah Revolution!"[15]

Previously promoted as God's chosen vessel for turning the hearts of the fathers to the children was the Promise Keepers' Sacred Assembly. On October 4, 1997, 500,000 men assembled to worship before the Washington Monument, a Masonic obelisk. Like the 1997 PK Stand in the Gap Conference, The Call, D.C. opened the pagan worship of Native American tribes and the blowing of the shofar. Few of the youths attending this ceremony would realize that the “cultural worship of Native Americans” was Sun worship.

"As the sun came up and the day got underway, Native Dancers and a large team of 50-60 men and women, dressed in white outfits took the stage at the same time. The day was ushered in with the blowing of shofars and Native American Worshippers and Dancers in full First Nations regalia. It was the right way to initiate this CALL. What better way than to honor the cultural worship of Native Americans, the First people of this nation and the Jewish People--God's first CHOSEN NATION?"[16]


RADICAL NAZARITES?

The Call, D.C.was heralded as the commencement of The Elijah Revolution. A companion website titled The Elijah Revolution features Lou Engle's Prayer CDs, Prayers for the Elijah Revolution, X-treme Disciples and Joann McFatter's Temple Dance, all of which can be purchased at the Revolution Store. Another page recalls Hitler's Youth Movement, another youth army of unhappy memory.

Nazis or Nazarites?

"A mighty youth army is gathering spontaneously, apparently out of nowhere. In the dark hours before the dawn, dew starts to collect on the ground that was dry the night before. It's an enemy's worst nightmare: to wake up and be suddenly surrounded by an army that appeared out of thin air! What had been an empty field the night before, is now filled with soldiers whose weapons and armor glint like dew in the sunrise. Overnight, an army of consecrated young people are going to emerge out of this present darkness. Though presently unseen, this vast youth army is already mobilizing. Invisible now, invincible later. This is an army like no other - ever. The millennium awaits them."[17]

An excerpt from Michael Brown’s The Jesus Manifesto: A Call to Revolution on The Elijah Revolution website, explains the need for a revolution: “What precedes revolutions is a growing awareness that things are not the way they ought to be.” To allay any fears or suspicions that this radical youth movement might get out of hand or be exploited to implement a fascist state, Brown adds a disclaimer.

"This revolution will not be fought with earthly weapons of destruction – not with guns and knives and bullets and bombs. It will not be fought with hatred, intimidation, or brute force. No. It will be fought with the message of the gospel, with the love of God, with the power of the Spirit, with radical holiness, with sacrifice, compassion, and courage. It will be a Jesus revolution, an intense clash between two spiritual kingdoms, a heavenly attack on the enemy's strongholds, a no compromise stand for morality and truth. And it will impact society in a lasting way. It must!…"[18]

References to the adoption of "radical Nazarite-type lifestyles" require more elaboration than is offered by The Call, D.C. The President of The Call, D.C., Che Ahn was mentored by the very New Age Dick Iverson. Iverson also mentored Pastor Wendell Smith of the WA City Church which holds 'Dragon Slayer' New Generation youth seminars. Wendell Smith belongs to the Church of the Nazarene as does James Dobson and his wife, Shirley. In fact, Dr. Dobson is descended from three generations of Nazarene ministers.

Merovingian literature, such as Bloodline of the Holy Grail, promotes the Nazarene tradition which is "another gospel" with "another Christ" -- an initiate of the gnostic Essene Community of Qumran:

"The scriptures also say that Jesus was a ' Nazarene' -- but this does not mean that he came from the town of Nazareth. Although Luke 2:39 implies that Joseph's family came from Nazareth, the term Nazarene (or Nazarite) was strictly sectarian, and had nothing to do with the town. . . [Variants of the word Nazarene] ultimately derive from the Hebrew Nozrim, a plural noun stemming from the term Nazrie-ha-Brit 'Keepers of the Covenant', a designation of the Essene Community at Qumran on the Dead Sea . . . every reference to 'Nazareth' in English translations of the Gospels must be regarded as incorrect -- stemming from a misunderstanding of the word Nazarene. . .

"John the Baptist and Jesus' brother James were both Nazarites, but the sectarian term can be traced back to the Old Testament figures of Samson and Samuel. Nazarites were ascetic individuals bound by strict vows through predetermined periods. . .In the Gospel era, Nazarites were associated with the Essene Community of Qumran -- the environment of Joseph and Mary."[19]

The Old Testament proscription of Nazarites from wine and strong drink, shaving, and physical corruption is found in Numbers 6. Samson, of the Tribe of Dan and who judged Israel during the Philistine occupation, is regarded as the first Nazarite. Judges 13:4,5 describes the command of angel of the Lord to Samson's mother: "For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come upon his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb. . ."

The significance of John the Baptist as a Nazarene/Nazarite will come into view as this series progresses. The Cult of the Black Virgin, by Ean Begg, classifies John the Baptist as an Essene and mentions that the Nazarene tradition of long hair was continued by the Merovingians and the Knights Templar:

"If, as seems likely, John was an Essene, influenced by the school of the Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumran, then he is part of a new mystical climate in Judaism, encompassing Philo's Alexandrian Therapeuts, in which the Gospel of the Kingdom was to grow and thrive. The Gnostic tradition that he represents has proved the most durable of all and still survives in Mesopotamia among the Mandaeans, also known as Nasoraeans and Christians of St John. The Merovingians, like the Nasoraeans/Nazarenes of old, never cut their hair. The Templars, too, were sometimes considered to be Christians of St John." [20]

Although the distinguishing characteristic of a Nazarite -- a man set apart to God under the Old Covenant -- was long hair, under the New Covenant "if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him". [I Cor.11:14] It would appear that the direction of the present revolution is bringing Christians under the Old Covenant. However, this is not the case, despite the incessant framing of Gnostic concepts with Old Testament terminology. Rather, the leaders of this revolution are leading naive youth into the New Age of the Gnostic Essene cult which is emerging from its underground haunt soon to become "The Church of St. John in the Age of the Spirit".

A major emphasis of The Call, D.C. is fasting into which mode the youth are being moved from September 20-October 29.

“Young Christians beat their elders to the punch by taking the initiative and calling their generation to a 40-day pre-election prayer and fasting vigil September 20-October 29. Multitudes are fasting and praying over their school lunch hours with this focus: for historic revival in America; "holy revolution" in their schools; the 2000 general elections. The call to “radical Nazarite-type lifestyles” puts this 40-day fast in a different category than Biblical fasting. A radical Nazarite-type lifestyle is the salvation by works mentality found in monastic orders. The “call” of this youth movement is, in fact, a call to a life of asceticism -- the practice of strict self-denial as a means of religious self discipline. The ritual fasting of the Nazarene Community of Essenes would have been akin to the asceticism of the Kabbalist who seeks union with God through such means.

“According to the Kabbalists, evil is essentially finite, as opposed to the divine good. . . Evil is an appearance not a substance, and a man’s sin consists of his separation from the Divine Being. . . By penitence and asceticism man can . . . attain union with perfection.” [22]

Recall that Laurence Gardner stated in Bloodline of the Holy Grail, "Nazarites were ascetic individuals bound by strict vows through predetermined periods. . ." Louis Engle's Live the Call homepage encourages young people to "make a vow," in direct disobedience of Jesus' command, "Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil." [Matt. 5:37]

Throughout the Christian Right is being purveyed the notion that if Christians will make heroic efforts of fasting and prayer, God will bless the nation’s elections with a Christian administration and Congress. The next item on the IFA newsletter is Charisma Magazine’s interview of Gov. George Bush on the subject of his faith. Bush gives his politically correct testimony which is profoundly lacking the genuineness of true Biblical conversion. Charisma and Bush fail to distinguish between a “person of faith” and a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no mention of Jesus whatsoever, only Christ.

Sadly, the Moral Majority will justify its collective vote for a third generation member of the Order of Skull and Bones on the basis of a bogus testimony and delusions of a Christian government. The CIA controllers of Christian Right, using highly developed mind control techniques, seem to have permanently disabled the critical faculties of Christians and reprogrammed them like members of a large cult. The fascinating History of the Order of Skull and Bones chronicles the development of Yale University as the fountainhead of American espionage, drug smuggling and secret societies.

“Yale has influenced the Central Intelligence Agency more than any other university, giving the CIA the atmosphere of a class reunion. And “Bonesmen” have been foremost among the “spooks” building the CIA’s “haunted house.”[23]


SKULL & BONES’ NEW JERUSLAEM

Lou Engle's inspiration for The Call, D.C. came from a prophetic dream which is described on the Generals of Intercession website.

“In 1996, God gave Engle a prophetic dream that spawned the movement now referred to as The Call. In the dream, Engle was to pass on a letter to a young boy named Joel. Engle awakened with the thought that he had lost the letter that Joel was supposed to receive. ‘At that point, the Holy Spirit spoke to me, ‘Don't drop Joel's letter!'’ recalls Lou. ‘I interpreted this to mean we shouldn't drop God's call, articulated in the second chapter of Joel, to pray and fast. . .’”[24]

Engle must support this fantastical pretext for starting a youth revolution with something more substantial. A reference to Jonathan Edwards will add credibility to his prophetic dream:

"Two years ago, in Lake Isabela, CA, the Lord showed Engle that the coming youth revival was a fulfillment of a promise He had made to pioneer revivalist Jonathan Edwards. . .’I was preparing to preach on this subject for the very first time,’ recalls Engle, ‘when a kid came up to me and shared that he had just found out he was the great-great-great-great grandchild of Edwards. God is going to visit the youth of this nation because of his covenant with Edwards!”

"Interestingly, scholars have reported that Jonathan Edwards prophesied that a third great awakening would commence before the end of the year 2000."[25]

Few Christians who hear this story will realize that the "great-great-great-great grandchild of Edwards" would also be a descendant of Timothy Dwight, who was inducted into the Order of Skull & Bones in 1849, became president of Yale University in 1886 and served on the committee for the 1901 American Standard Revision (ASV). According to Antony Sutton, author of America's Secret Establishment: Introduction to the Order of Skull and Bones:

"In 1886 Timothy Dwight (The Order) had taken over from the last of Yale's clerical Presidents, Noah Porter. Never again was Yale to get too far from The Order." [26]

Rev. Pres Timothy Dwight was the grandson of Rev. Timothy Dwight (1752-1817) who was the grandson of the famous Rev. Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758), president of Union College. Both Timothy Dwights were presidents of Yale. The elder Timothy Dwight, who was born on May 14, 1752 in Northampton, Massachusetts, was a also personal friend of President George Washington, a high-level Freemason.

"Timothy Dwight was a man for all seasons: an ordained Congregational minister, grandson of Jonathan Edwards, personal friend of George Washington, and Army chaplain." [27]

It is true that Jonathan Edwards prophesied a great revival at the onset of the millennium. According to Paul Boyer, When Time Shall Be No More: Prophecy Belief in Modern American Culture, Jonathan Edwards and his grandson, Timothy Dwight, believed that America would be the seat of Christ's Millennial Kingdom and that this transition would occur in 2000 A.D. This vision corresponds to the Plan of British Freemasonry for the United States.

Christians, note well the Masonic exploitation of the religious masses through “patriot prophecy writers” who led them to believe they would “fulfill prophecy” by supporting “The Revolution.” It is an historical phenomenon that revolutionaries with secular agendas have, through psychological manipulation, succeeded in transforming the Church into an instrument of revolution.

"With the struggle for independence, patriot prophecy writers reenacted the familiar process of adapting their end-time scenarios to current events, and vied in identifying contemporary British leaders as Antichrist. . .By 1773 King George himself, like Charles I 150 years earlier was being portrayed as Antichrist . . .

"The independence movement also revived the belief of the Mathers and of Jonathan Edwards that America might be the seat of Christ's millennial kingdom. But what had been formulated in religious terms now took on a secular cast, as prophecy speculation -- already politicized during the French and Indian War -- oriented itself around the Revolutionary cause, laying the groundwork for. . .'civil millennialism.' In 'A Poem on the Rising Glory of America,' delivered to their Princeton graduating class in 1771, Philip Freneau and Hugh Henry Brackenridge looked to the day when the New Jerusalem would 'grace our happy earth, perhaps this land.' An independent American nation, declared Ebenezer Baldwin 1776, would be 'the principle seat of that glorious kingdom', which Christ shall erect upon the earth in the latter Days. Revolution and liberty, rather than revival, now became the high road to the blessed future foreseen by the biblical apocalypticus.

"With symbolic appropriateness, Jonathan Edwards' grandson, Timothy Dwight, most fully elaborated this secular vision of the Revolution's prophetic significance. Dwight's 1771 poem 'America' written when he was a nineteen-year-old Yale student contains the kernel of is civil millennialism. . . Five years later, speaking at Yale three weeks after the Declaration of Independence, the now twenty-four-year-old Dwight fully eschatologized the stirring events of the day. In America, history would reach its climax in the fulfillment of 'that remarkable Jewish tradition' of a thousand years of 'peace, purity and felicity.' Ushered in by Yale-trained lawyers, physicians and other professionals, the Star Spangled Millennium, he speculated (echoing Samuel Sewall whose ideas had intrigued his grandfather), would probably begin about the year 2000. In the soaring apocalyptic language of the prophet Isaiah, Dwight hailed the emerging nations: 'Arise, shine, for thy light has come.'" [28] 

Pseudo-Elijah in Israel

Jim Searcy's Great Joy in Tribulation web site announced some time ago that Elijah the prophet has been prophesying to the leaders of Israel since 1996. Although Searcy identifies this prophet as one of the two witnesses of Revelation 11, Al Cupppett, a(nother) military agent and frequent speaker of the Prophecy Club, rejects this theory in favor of pseudo-Elijah being the fulfillment of Malachi 4:4,5. It seems significant that Cuppett, like the promoters of The Call, D.C., believe that Malachi 4:5,6 awaits fulfillment even though Jesus said that John the Baptist fulfilled this prophecy. "For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if ye will receive it, this is Elias which was for to come. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." [Matt.11:13-15] Cuppett reads into Jesus' interpretation of Malachi's prophecy that the italicized "it", which was not even in the original Greek text, refers to John's message instead of Jesus' statement. Therefore, John the Baptist is Elijah only on the condition that the Jews receive John's' message!

[Al Cuppett] "I will send you Elijah the prophet. It doesn't say I will send you the prophet, Elijah, which would be the real Elijah. But it says I will send you Elijah the prophet, a prophet named Elijah and he'll turn the hearts of the children to the fathers and the fathers to the children and so forth. John the Baptist stated, I am not Elijah. Jesus said, this is Elijah if you will receive it, his message. . .they didn't, they beheaded him. Elijah and Moses came down on the Mount of Transfiguration. . .they both went back to heaven. . .no one has yet fulfilled the prophecy of turning the hearts of the children to the fathers and so forth. Therefore, this man is the man. . .no doubt in my mind, I spent 20 days with him. . .I've hauled him around the United States. . . he's over in Cyprus now. . ." 1.

Elijah has a low view of the Church and believes "The real people have the name of Jesus, Yeshua ha Mashiach. That's what it's all about." Elijah has also prophesied judgment upon Israel's leaders who arrested him and put him in a mental hospital.

"God is judging you people, you are not worthy to be called Jews because you don't live God's Holy Law. Barak, you are a law breaker and judgment upon this land is because the blood is on your hands and your governments hands for what your doing. You set me, you let them take me to that interior department, torment me every time I come into the country, every time I went out, you allowed those people to torment me and the interior department with the Haredim and then you had the secret police harass me, pick me up, you had the Massad come against me and haul me to a mental hospital. They tried to destroy me with drugs and pills but God raised me up, God kept me alive, God gives me life, you can't kill me. Your evil people can't kill me because I have a God but you will see yourself flee out of Israel for what your seeing. Unless you repent, Now Repent."

Elijah has prophesied that judgment is about to fall on Israel where, ironically, he and Cuppett advise U.S. Jews to flee:

"But, I can assure you this, the record 3 year drought in Israel is FACT. Elijah warned them to do right, in writing, before it ever started. I saw his letters, and I read them. Israel shall heed the warnings soon, otherwise, they shall have to vacate the land for lack of water. But, prophetic scripture never removes them once they return as a nation in 1948. Therefore, they and the Government of Israel, shall heed, and obey his words. The U. S. Jews better escape to Israel soon."

". . .Regarding the time and the seasons, that is numbers of the dates, and times, written and set forth in the word of God, well, they must all be shortened, as the Lord has reserved that right, to save the elect, and almighty God shall have to do so, and is already doing it. That is to save us. As of July, 1999 we are on the very brink of global disaster. Prepare to meet thy God for you shall soon meet Him. And when you meet him you will recognize him as the GREAT I AM, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST." 2.

Ludicrous examples of what passes for new revelation abound at The Great Joy in Tribulation web site. The following priceless gems from two Messianic Jews, Jerry Golden and Tom Carlson, and Al Cuppett (who seems to contradict his previous statement) are offered as proof that Elijah is one of the two witnesses. [Please note that Jerry Golden maintains, "I wrote (this letter) before ever meeting this man who calls himself Elijah, with in minutes of meeting him I was sure he was not who he said he was."]

[Jerry Golden] "It was in 1980, I was sitting at a sidewalk cafe on Ben Yehuda Street downtown Jerusalem, Israel, my wife, two daughters and son Joel were with me. When a young man sat beside us on a stone bench. He was an artist with a large drawing pad, with Pastels, in just a few minutes he did a portrait of a man. When I looked at it, the Lord spoke to me, and said that is Elijah. I asked him if it was for sale, and how much. He said yes, ten shekels, (about $6. back then). I bought it and took it straight to a framer, and had it framed. It hung in our home for seventeen years, every time someone looked at it over those years I would tell them, that the Lord told me, that was Elijah. When the Lord told Connie and I to sell our house and He would send us on a new mission. That mission turned out to be disaster preparedness for His people across this land. Then I packed the painting and put it in storage, where it has been for the past three years.

"Needless to say, after all those years I hadn't given it much thought, that is until things began to happen in the spirit. A Pastor friend of mine 'Rev. Tom Carlson' (a Messianic Jew like myself) in Des Moines, Iowa, went to Israel, and while there he met a man of God who he believed to be Elijah. When he told me about it, I tried to be nice, but the truth is, I thought he had lost it, if you know what I mean. He told me that news media people from all over the world where [sic] interviewing him. Pastor Tom himself has a daily radio program and has aired many taped interviewed sessions. Almost as a gesture I told Pastor Tom about the painting I had, and that I felt like God spoke to me and said it was of Elijah. He asked me what the picture looked like, I gave him a description of it and the phone went very still for a few moments. He came back on and said he had gotten such a witness that he could hardly speak. When he got some pictures of Elijah printed to show people I saw one, and it nearly knocked me down. It was the same man in the pastel drawing. I took some friends and went to my storage shed. I wasn't sure where it was, but we found it with a lot of other paintings we have. When I compared the two together it was him, it was Elijah. Or a perfect likeness of him.

"Now the Bible tells us that in the end times there will be two witnesses in the streets of Jerusalem. Every theologian I know, believes it is Moses and Elijah.

"Now if this is the end times, where are the two witnesses? Wouldn't Elijah be in Israel now?

"Now lets look at it from another perspective. It was 20 years ago when I received a Word from God and purchased that painting. Twenty is the number of Redemption, and it cost 10 Shekels, and 10 is the number of Testimony, so in just the cost and time factor, we have a testimony of Redemption. When we add the 20 and 10 we have 30, the Number of Blood, so we are talking about the Testimony of the Redemption of Yeshua, who shed His blood for our sins. Glory to God, you see when God does something it is always perfect, anyway you look at it. I have looked at this event very closely. One thing I am certain of, God is saying something here. We need to listen."

[Al Cuppett] "...Later in May I saw Jerry Golden's painting drawn in Jerusalem in about 1980. By the witness of the Spirit to Jerry then, and through those 20 years, how Elijah would look in 1999. And I also read Jerry's testimony concerning that painting. In Jerusalem, in June, I also met Jerry and his wife, Connie, and his son Joel, as they ate one of two Sabbath dinners with me, which I also had a chance to eat with Elijah. Furthermore, now in July of 1999, I can attest that the 1980 painting, is that of the man I met in February and also in June. In addition to the other traits, there is an unique indentation in his forehead that positively identifies him by Jerry Golden's 1980 portrait."

". . .Now, about one other thought. In numerics 6 means the nature of man. Elijah today lives at #6 on a street over there and that 6 is number of man and/or the nature of man. That's why he lives at house #6. This is the very house that was rented back in July. Since I did not witness any of them first hand I can't address the Elijah related incidence regarding (l.) the demise of the mail tampering of the Bethlehem postmaster (2.) the record drought in Cypress or (3.) the serious heart attack of a Rabbi who was warned to treat black Jews equal or else. But, I can assure you this, I can assure you this is the record 3 year drought in Israel. Elijah warned them to do right in writing before it ever started. I saw his letters and I read them. Israel shall heed the warnings soon, otherwise, they shall have to vacate the land for lack of water. But, prophetic scripture never removes them once they return as a nation in 1948. As opposed to "denominational ad nausium bible school theology and eschatology," Al Cuppett and Jim Searcy advise "all the daughters and non bible studiers" that we are at the END of the Tribulation rather than its onset.

"Yep, I know the above opens a lot of questions for those who have sucked upon the Church of God, Assemblies of God and the denominational ad nausium bible school theology and eschatology. I know all about that. However for all the daughters and non bible studiers the peace and security covenant was signed on September 13, 1993 and broken on 13 of March, 1997. The antichrist figure himself is already clandestinely calling the shots behind the scene from the Brussels Beast Computer, which has a direct data commanding control circuit to every head of state in the world except Israel. The direct death and destruction by United Nations, apostates and forces can be witnessed by the reason domestic policy death to the USA. As well as the killing field in other places of the world and much more is on the way. This is all being called from Brussels and is being carried out by our puppets here in Washington. Furthermore, since 1973 the Israeli Government has thoroughly and secretly excavated Solomon's Temple, directly under the Temple Mount and right under the Moslems feet, 16 to 20 feet above. They have ferreted out a secret chamber there and need not ever build a final temple as they have the exact paving there where Solomon and the High Priest once walked. At this point it is important to remember that the true Antichrist system of the end time will orchestrate a false fulfillment of Bible prophecy before the true fulfillment of Scripture actually takes place. The simulation of the events of the Tribulation Period will go far toward misleading even the elect. There will be a counterfeit Tribulation Period, a counterfeit Antichrist and False Prophet, a counterfeit Abomination of Desolation, etc. At mid-Trib, the pseudo-Antichrist [eg., Prince Charles/UN] and pseudo-Mystery Babylon [Pope/Roman Catholic Church] will be judged and ostensibly destroyed in a mock trial and execution. The world and undiscerning Christians, believing that the Beast has been vanquished by the Messiah, will receive the heroic conqueror -- a descendant of the Merovingian bloodline -- as "The Christ." At that time, the Bistea Neptunis -- the Beast out of the Sea [Rev.13:1] -- will ascend the throne of a rebuilt temple and the Great Tribulation will ensue.

The {False} Prophecy Club


Teachings out of the Prophecy Club exude British-Israelism, anti-government fear mongering and revolution to further an anti-Christian agenda. They promote militias, patriot groups, guns, gematria, near death/out of body experiences for obtaining new revelation and interpretation of prophecy. Jews are told to flee America's "coming destruction" and Prophecy Club adherents are urged to move to Belize, Brazil and elsewhere. Many prophecy teachers believe that America is Israel and that American Christians are God's chosen people rather than the Jews. They believe that the impending destruction will be God's wrath and judgment on the true "Israel" for permitting corruption, immorality, greed and materialism to become a way of life.

To incite rebellion against the American government, these prophecy teachers preach that the anti-Christian Illuminati/Council on Foreign Relations, which controls the U.S., must be eliminated and the nation brought under the control of Christians. Hence, the need for a Christian revolution. Young people are especially being conditioned for acceptance of this false teaching through exploitation of the Columbine massacre and other school shootings. Targeted by the ubiquitous agitation propaganda of intelligence agents posing as Christian leaders, Christians and their children are being used to advance the same New World Order they think they are defeating.

In their patriotic zeal, American Christians have foolishly listened to false prophets who advise rebellion against ruling authorities instead of heeding Scripture, which states that God has appointed all governments.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. Romans 13:1,2

After that, miraculous events will lead the nation of Egypt to send planes to fly the sojourners to that country, where they will reside for perhaps five more years or until the return of Christ." Dr. Stan Monteith [CNP Membership Directory, 1996, 1999] Wrote the book, "AIDS: The Unnecessary Epidemic", the widely circulated pamphlet, "To Deceive a Nation", and more recently, "A Nation Deceived and Betrayed." Host of CIA funded Radio Liberty as a SMOM front for Nazi émigrés. According to The Messianic Legacy written in 1986: "The present head of the Order in the United States is a prominent businessman, J. Peter Grace. Prior to 1971, Grace was associated with Radio Liberty and Radio Free Europe, both of which had been established by Reinhard Gehlen and funded by the CIA." 4. The Covert Action Information Bulletin describes the manner in which Radio Liberty, under the supervision of Grace and other prominent figures, functioned as a front for ex-Nazis: "In 1950, the American Committee for Liberation from Bolshevism was created. The trustees included J. Peter Grace, Charles Edison, William Henry Chamberlain, H.J. Heinz II, Isaac Don Levine, and Eugene Lyons. The Committee (now known as Radio Liberty), under the guiding hand of the CIA's Frank Wisner, funded numerous émigré "research institutes'' which, according to John Loftus [see UNHOLY TRINITY], were "little more than front groups for ex-Nazi intelligence officers.'' 5. General Ben Partin - Board member of Jim Ammerman's political intelligence group known as the Mount Rushmore Foundation, which "studies the Patriot movement," and "'participates in it." According to Anton Chaitkin of EIR, "Less well known is General Partin's sponsorship of an ongoing, catastrophic shooting war in Africa, which lends a more sinister character to his hatred of the United States government. Partin is a founder and board member of the Front Line Fellowship, a group of commando-missionaries taking active part in the war against Sudan and other African states viewed as enemies of the British Crown. THE SPIRIT OF ELIJAH

Whilst Pseudo-Elijah pronounces divine judgment upon Israel, other Prophecy teachers are preparing their disciples for the arrival of "the Messiah" following the emergence of said prophet, Elijah. Popular Prophecy Club speaker and author, Grant Jeffrey, also a foremost proponent of Bible Codes, aka Gematria, commends to his readers the teaching of the Jewish rabbis that Elijah will appear either 3 days or 3 years before the Messiah. An excerpt from Jeffrey's book, Prince of Darkness, is found on the BPR/Philologos web site following a lengthy commentary on Elijah from Dr. William Smith's Dictionary of the Bible. Grant Jeffrey's comments, although brief, appear to be setting up his readers for a false messiah who will be introduced by a counterfeit Elijah and heralded by Michael the Archangel!

"Over the centuries the Jews have developed a number of traditions about Elijah the prophet. . . His appearance as the forerunner of Messiah will motivate the Jewish people to national and individual repentance. The rabbis believe that Elijah and the Messiah will usher in a time of peace and harmony for all nations. They believe that Elijah will resolve all legal questions and the discrepancies in religious law (Halachah). In addition they expect him to establish the proper rituals for the restoration of the Temple service. Curiously, they describe Elijah as a partner to Moses in God's coming kingdom, the same role that Aaron used to perform during the Exodus.

"The rabbis teach that Elijah will appear at some point in time (either three days or three years) before the advent of the Messiah. They anticipate that he will appear in Palestine and utter a lament over the devastation of the Holy Land. After Michael the Archangel blows his trumpet, Elijah will introduce the Messiah to the world. The Talmud claims that several wonders will accompany the coming of Elijah and the Messiah: (1) He will bring Moses back to life. (2) He will reveal the secret location of the three holy vessels that mysteriously disappeared: the Ark of the Covenant, the Flask of Manna and the container of sacred anointing oil. (3) He will carry the royal scepter of Judah which God promised 'shall not depart from Judah. . .until Shiloh come' (Gen 49:10). (4) He will transform the geography of the Holy Land, leveling the mountains.

"Another curious belief of the rabbis is that Elijah will be one of the eight princes that will form the cabinet of the Messiah. Additionally, they tell us that Elijah will restore the tribal identities of the Jews." 1.

Rather than interpreting Revelation 11 exegetically, Grant Jeffrey has substituted the Jewish rabbis' less severe version of Elijah's ministry. In the rabbinic version, Elijah does not prophesy for three and one-half years, devour his enemies with fire from his mouth, prevent rain, turn the waters to blood or smite the earth with plagues. Grant Jeffrey seems willing to accommodate Jewish unbelief and pander to their expectation of another Elijah -- who will prepare the way for a more palatable messiah than Jesus Christ. Mr. Jeffrey's statements are worrisome. What is meant by Elijah's resolution of ALL discrepancies between the religious and legal system?

* Will Elijah oversee a restoration of the Sanhedrin to administer The Noahide Laws?
* Could Michael the Archangel possibly be Prince Michael Stewart of Albany, president of the European Council of Princes?
* Will Michael -- as the "Prince" of Daniel 12:1 -- introduce the false messiah of the Merovingian dynasty -- perhaps the next Grand Master of the Prieuré de Sion whose name is "John" or "Jean" following the line of succession of Grand Masters of the Prieuré?
* Will this counterfeit messiah be given the Scepter of Authority which, according to Hebrew Roots teacher Peter Michas' book, The Rod of the Almond Tree, is a branch from the legendary tree of crucifixion?
* If so, will he perform signs and lying wonders with this "divine rod" -- as it is termed by Peter Michas?
* Will pseudo-Elijah call down fire from heaven in imitation of the true prophet Elijah, but in reality be the False Prophet of Rev. 13:13 who also "maketh fire to come down from heaven"?
* Will pseudo-Elijah restore the Arkite Worship of the Kabbalah, the Jewish book of the occult?
* Will pseudo-Elijah and the false messiah destroy Mount Zion in Jerusalem and reinstitute the false worship of Mount Sion/Hermon, the historic center of idolatry in the land of Israel.
* Finally, will the false messiah be found to be of the idolatrous Tribe of Dan when pseudo-Elijah restores the identities of the Lost Tribes of Israel? 

According to Jewish Kabbalist, Avi ben Mordechai, whose prophecy teachings are also circulated by BPR/Philologos, the messiah will appear six months following Elijah, who will also be associated with the resurrection of the dead on Rosh Hashanah.

This concept of Eliyahu's [Elijah] coming as a herald of Mashiach Ben-David [Messiah, son of David] is supported not only in the Tanakh [Old Testament] and the B'rit Chadashah [New Testament] but also in our Jewish literature:

It was even taught that Eliyahu had three cities in Y'hudah [Judah] from which he would again begin his ministry. . .According to Jewish expectation, Eliyahu will emerge before the resurrection from one of these cities (ruins) and not in the desert as was Yochanan the Immerser [John the Baptist].



One more interesting fact: According to Jewish expectation, Eliyahu will come with Mosheh [Moses]. . .[God Speaking]

Moses, I swear to you, as you devoted your life to their service in this world, so too in the time to come when I bring Elijah, the prophet, unto them, the two of you shall come together. [Midrash Rabbah Deuteronomy]



. . .I believe Eliyahu and Mosheh will return in the flesh prior to the resurrection and rapture on the Day of the L-rd. How soon before the Day of the L-rd will they appear? I am not sure about Mosheh but I think Eliyahu will come six months before the resurrection because Yochanan (a type of Eliyahu), who was a forerunner of Mashiach, was six months older than Y'shua. And if Y'shua comes for His bride at Rosh Hashanah then Eliyahu will appear in Israel at Pesach. Why Pesach? Because that is when Eliyahu is expected. For almost 2,000 years, Jews every year at the annual celebration of Pesach prepare a table-setting for him.

For their interpretation of Bible prophecy, Avi ben Mordecai and Grant Jeffrey both rely upon the rabbinic writings, in this case the Babylonian Talmud and Midrash. It is a fact that modern Judaism is not based on Scripture, but directly descended from the religion of the Pharisees of the first century A.D. These "traditions of the elders" -- which Jesus argued were the cause of the Jews' transgression of God's commandments -- have been preserved in the vast work known as "the Talmud". Jesus never endorsed the traditions of the Jewish rabbis. Rather, His most scathing rebukes were directed at those who "made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition."

Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do yea also transgress the commandments of God by your tradition?. . .Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, THIS PEOPLE DRAWETH NIGH UNTO ME WITH THEIR LIPS; BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR FROM ME, TEACHING FOR DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN. Matt.15:2,3,6-8

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. . .Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make on proselyte, and when he is made ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. Woe unto you, ye blind guides. . .Matt. 23:13,15, 16

Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them ye shall scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. Matt. 23:33-36

The Jews refer to the Talmud as a VAST SEA. Rabbi Berel Wein's description of The Talmud: Book of the Jews explains: "No wonder the rabbis referred to the Talmud as a vast sea in whose waters one must quickly become an excellent swimmer so as not to drown." Michael L. Rodkinson, a Jewish scholar who edited the English edition of the Babylonian Talmud [1897], a monumental work, and wrote a series of volumes titled, The History of the Talmud [1903], describes the Talmud as a "vast sea" prior to its compilation in written form.

"And so the Talmud became a vast sea, and its waves rose with might. R. Ashi (355-427) saw, therefore, that the time had come for revising, systematizing and concluding it, when he came to restore the college of Sura (Matha Mekhasia), which had fallen into decay on the death of Rabh. . . . The name 'Talmud' was applied to what was styled by the long phrase 'ORAL LAW' (Torah-she b'al-Peh). This word designated all the commentaries of the sages on the Scriptures which the Pharisees had begun to interpret figuratively." [Frank W. Revelation 13 opens with the apostle's vision: "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rising out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy." Please recall that the Bistea Neptunis or "beast of the sea" -- which is believed to be "ever incarnate in the dynasty of ancient kings" and whose symbol was a fish -- identifies the mystical Merovingian Fisher-Kings, who believed they were of the bloodline of Jesus Christ. [The Rosicrucian Connection] Their origins are actually found in the Tribe of Dan, whose pagan worship is revealed in the Old Testament.

The following interpretation of Revelation 13:1 from a reader confirms our own research, that the one world religion will be Talmudic Judaism, which gave rise to Jewish mysticism [Kabbalah] and will give rise to the Beast, a Merovingian priest-king of the Tribe of Dan:

"When I did my undergraduate degree as CSUB [California State U. Bakersfield], I took a class in Judaism, offered through the humanities dept. I still have the textbooks and thought you'd like a little insight from the jews themselves. In the book entitled THE BOOK OF JEWISH BELIEF by Louis Jacobs (1984, Behrman House ISBN 0-87441-379-6), on page 60 from the chapter on 'TALMUD AND MIDRASH' is an enlightening quotation "The Talmud is like a vast sea, requiring expert navigation to sail safely through its often turbulent waters." I firmly believe that mystery Babylon is the Babylonian Talmud, and that when Revelation says that the Beast rises from the sea, it's not humanity but the Talmud, the unholy writings that spawn the beast. The Jews refer to the Talmud as the 'sea' not humanity, which is the popular Christian teaching of the day. Also in this text are chapters on Kaballah and a writings on the Jewish belief in reincarnation. They also refer to the world as COMING INTO A ONE WORLD RELIGION OF JUDAISM. They call Christianity and Islam daughter religions that are readying the world to accept Judaism."

A One World Religion of Judaism

Founder of Hebraic Heritage Ministries, Eddie Chumney, recently disclosed to his "Mishpochah" [family] what the Spirit of Elijah really means to the Hebrew Roots Movement:

"Christians have failed to understand a Biblical principle that ISHMAEL (Morman belief and British Israelism) comes before ISAAC (the true belief, understanding and restoration of both houses of Israel) through a world-wide sovereign outpouring of God's Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) otherwise named the SPIRIT of Elijah who is turning the hearts of the children (Christianity) to the fathers (Judiasm) and the hearts of fathers (Judaism) to the children (Christianity)." 2.

It seems that turning the hearts of Christians to Judaism means that the narrow Christian message of "personal" redemption must be broadened to embrace the Jewish agenda of "national" redemption:

"Many believers in Messiah who are embracing their Hebraic roots in Messiah and even 'Jewish roots' ministries are still not sure if they believe in the two houses of Israel or in an end-time restoration of both houses of Israel (referred to in the OT as the house of Israel (Northern Kingdom) and the house of Israel (Southern Kingdom). Today, the two houses of Israel are known by the more common names of Judaism and Christianity. Both believe in the God of Israel. Both believe in redemption. Both believe in a personal Messiah. Yet, there culture and their history and their customs have been historically quite different (much like the history, customs and worship style of the Northern Kingdom differed from that of the Southern Kingdom).

"Why are even believers who embrace their Hebraic roots in Messiah still having a difficult time of grasping, believing and understanding the prophecied restoration of both houses of Israel (Ezekiel 37:15-28). Well, I believe that there are several reasons.

"The most basic reason is the absolute emphasis within Christianity of PERSONAL redemption. PERSONAL redemption is emphasized so much that NATIONAL redemption is not a part of their thought process. Meanwhile, one of the major reasons why Judaism has a difficult time accepting Yeshua/Jesus as their PERSONAL Messiah is the absolute emphasis on Jewish COMMUNITY and the NATIONAL redemption of God's people as foretold by the prophets of Israel."

According to Chumney, Christians have failed to appreciate the message of Jewish-Christian rapprochement [restoration of the lost tribes to Israel] because of the Mormon and other British Israelite cults which pervert the doctrine. Just how Mormon/British-Israelism differs from Chumney's version of the reunification of lost Northern/Southern tribes of Israel is not clear.

"Another reason why corporate Christianity and even those believers in Messiah who are embracing their Hebraic heritage in Messiah have to stop, look and listen and chew and rechew before they begin to understand that THEY are a part of the restoration of BOTH HOUSES of Israel is because the enemy (HaSatan) has sowed perversion and distortion in the belief in the two houses from groups that most Christians view as being outside of the mainstream of Christian belief like the Mormans and those who espouse "British Israelism"." 3.

Eddie Chumney hopes his readers will miss the fact that he is really teaching British-Israelism, the Northern Kingdom being the ten lost tribes of Israel which migrated to Europe and then the British Isles. Chumney's interpretation of the Ezekiel 37:15-28 is identical with that of the Scottish Stewart Clan, a Merovingian "sacred family" claiming direct descendance from the bloodline of Jesus Christ.

"Say unto them (Israel), Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph (House of Joseph), which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah (House of Judah), and make them one stick (one nation), and they shall be one in *mine hand*."

These sticks are literal wooden sticks which were used to represent the divided Kingdom of Israel which had become the House of Judah and the House of Israel. (See 1 Kings 11) The two sticks mentioned in Ezekiel are not books or scrolls -- they are people -- as the Scriptures will document. The sticks simply represent people. Note verses 16 & 17: "Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions: And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand."

The word "stick" is literal; that is, it means a stick of wood -- not a book or scroll. (See Strong's No. H6086) Therefore, in writing the name of Judah on one stick and the name of Joseph on the other, is simply showing the separation or division of God's People, Israel, and that by a miracle, He will rejoin them into one people. Our Father says that when asked about the meaning of this joining, tell them as follows: Verse 20: "Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick (the House or people) of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim (whose leader was Ephraim -- at that time), and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah (join them with the House or people of Judah -- the remnant), and make them one stick (one people), and they shall be one (a single nation, as in the beginning) in mine hand." Verse 22 confirms that these two sticks represent people who have been scatterd to the four winds -- but will be reunited when Christ returns; read carefully:

"22 And I will make them *one nation* (one stick, one people) in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king (Christ) shall be king to them *all* (Shiloh; Whose right the Stone of Destiny represents): and they shall be no more two nations (two sticks), neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:" Can Christ be a King over anything except people? These two sticks being joined are specifically used to remind the descendants of Israel, even today, that they will yet be reunited into one nation -- a single people -- in the original land given to Abraham! 4.

Proponents of British-Israelism understand that the shift from the narrow gospel of personal redemption to the Jewish message of national redemption is not going to be easy for Christians. For five hundred years the Church has been preaching a gospel of personal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and, for the most part, Christians have not been open to change the message. However, Rick Joyner has declared that the Reformation is not over -- the final stage will be the return of Christianity to its Jewish Roots! But how will the Messianic change agents move a resistant Church from the Christian hope of heaven to the Jewish hope of an earthly homeland?

To discover the answer to that question, we shall turn to the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America [MJAA], which was instrumental in the transformation of the Messianic Movement from Hebrew Christianity into Messianic Judaism.

In July of 1999, the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA) and the Young Messianic Jewish Alliance (YMJA) sponsored Messiah '99, a massive gathering of Messianic Jews which featured over sixty Messianic Jewish leaders and Charismatic leaders, Rick Joyner and Stephen Strang. This theme of this conference was the superiority of the Messianic Judaism over the Christian Church which needs to be restored to its true foundation: Judaism. "The Ascendance of Messianic Judaism in the Context of Hebrew Christianity," by William Green, Ph.D., identifies the origin of the MJAA and YMJA as the revolutionary Jesus Movement of the 1960s and 70s. After this turbulent period, the Young Messianic Jewish Alliance [YMJA] -- which was the youth contingent of the former Hebrew Christian Alliance of America [estab. 1903] -- surpassed the MJAA in numbers and zeal. The MJAA is the leading Messianic Jewish organization -- the “largest of its kind in the world, and representing the estimated 100,000 Messianic Jews in the United States.”

William Green makes the interesting observation that it was the Jesus Movement and the "generation gap" it produced, which served as the catalyst for a change of direction in the Messianic movement. This transition -- from identification with Christianity to identification with Judaism – was expressed in the change of name from the Hebrew Christian Association of America [HCAA] to the Messianic Jewish Association of America [MJAA]. Green’s The Ascendance of Messianic Judaism shows the evolution of the HCAA to the MJAA, identifying the proponents of Messianic Judaism (as opposed to Hebrew Christianity) and the time period this transition occurred:

“Hebrew Christianity is often applied to the movement before the 1960s and 1970s. . . These Jewish believers are encouraged to join Christian churches in order to 'avoid separating themselves from Gentile Christians,' while at the same time, they are encouraged to join fellowships with other Hebrew Christians 'to retain their ethnic identity and culture . . .'

“In 1966, under the auspices of the HCAA, the Young Hebrew Christian Youth Organization (YHCYO) was begun; in 1967, it became the Young Hebrew Christian Alliance (YHCA) . . . (in 1975, the YHCA was renamed the Young Messianic Jewish Alliance of America [YMJA]), and began to surpass the parent organization in membership and enthusiasm. Many of today's leaders of the Messianic Jewish movement have come from the YHCA, energized by the 'Jesus movement' of the late 1960s and early 1970s. An obvious 'generation gap' grew between the older 'denominational' Hebrew Christians and these younger 'Messianic Jews.' The upcoming generation wanted to change the styles of worship and evangelism to a more Jewish context. It was also at this time that 'Jews for Jesus' began.

“Martin Chernoff became the President of the HCAA (1971-1975), and led the group towards Messianic Judaism (his sons, Joel and David, also served as Presidents - 1979-1983 and 1983-1987, respectively). In June of 1973, a motion was made to change the name of the HCAA to the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA); however, a two-thirds majority vote was necessary to effect the name change, and only 62% was received at this time. Two years later, though, there was enough support, and in June of 1975, the name was officially changed to the MJAA. The (mostly young) supporters of Messianic Judaism had won out; the name change was significant as more than just a "semantical expression;" as Rausch states, "it represented an evolution in the thought processes and religious and philosophical outlook toward a more fervent expression of Jewish identity."

“The revival of the concept [Messianic Judaism] really began in the late 1960s, and came to fruition in the early 1970s . . . The leading organization of this movement is still the MJAA (the former HCAA), being the largest of its kind in the world, and representing the estimated 100,000 Messianic Jews in the United States. It is part of the larger international alliance formed in 1925, and encompassing thirteen countries. The MJAA is headquarted in Philadelphia . . . For some years, the MJAA followed the practices of the HCAA and established local branches in various cities. However, these branches gradually began to go out of existence as a new phenomenon grew: Messianic congregations and synagogues.” 5.

A major player in the transition from Hebrew Christianity to Messianic Judaism was Moishe Rosen, formerly a Baptist minister who founded Jews for Jesus in the Haight-Ashbury section of San Francisco in the early 1970s. It seems that the Conservative Baptist board was eager to participate in the evangelism already in progress in the Jesus Movement and, according to William Green, Jews for Jesus converts were primarily Jews and Gentiles from the hippie population. In 1973, Moishe Rosen and Jews for Jesus separated from the Conservative Baptist denomination because of JFJ's predominantly Jewish orientation. [See Moishe Rosen in High Priest costume.]

"Jews for Jesus (JFJ). Founded in California by Moishe Rosen . . . His 'group' had started as a mission of the North Carolina-based American Board of Missions to the Jews (ABMJ), who sent Rosen (an ordained Baptist minister) to California in the early 1970s. He was so successful that they brought him back to New York to train other Jewish evangelists, but eventually he returned to San Francisco, populating JFJ mostly with born-again hippies (Jewish and Gentile). In August 1973, the ABMJ terminated Rosen's position as he became less denomination-oriented and more Jewish-oriented (messianic); the other eleven members of the mission also resigned from the Board in order to stay with JFJ. Their primary focus at this point had to be on raising financial support, since ABMJ funds had been cut off. This support came mostly from churches, so JFJ toned down their youth culture image, presented more and more of a Jewish image, and developed a 'Hebrew Christian' ethnic identity." 6.

According to Moishe Rosen, Jewish converts who had been assimilated into the Christian Church were ineffective in witnessing to other Jews. Better to retain their Jewish culture, says Rosen. Hence Messianic synagogues have replaced Church affiliation for converted Jews:

"We had to bridge the culture gap. Jewish missions in general had neglected the principle of indigenousness: winning those of a specific nationality, tribe or social segment to Christ and training them to witness to their own people within the framework of their own culture. A communication gap existed between the missionaries and the Jewish people they wanted to evangelize. The missionaries expected Jewish believers to behave like Gentiles when they came to Christ, almost as though eating non-kosher food or totally ignoring Jewish holidays would prove that they were Christians.

"Heeding Paul's example to be as Jews to those who were Jewish, we began to use elements of our own Jewish culture in evangelism. We wrote Jewish melodies to sing praise to Jesus and on Jewish holidays, such as Passover and the Day of Atonement, we pointed to Him as the Lamb of God and our atonement for sin. Instead of retreating from our Jewishness, we valued it. This showed those we wanted to evangelize that coming to Christ did not mean abandonment of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and that Christ is the fulfillment of the Hebrew Law.

"We had to raise our profile. Until 1970, it had been relatively easy for Jewish community leaders to state that Jews did not believe in Jesus. This false premise seemed true because the Jewish believers generally were not visible. Even though numbers of Jews received Christ, they tended to assimilate, leaving their testimonies unheard in the Church and in the Jewish community."7.

William Green observed that the shift from Christian to Jewish identity was accompanied by a distinct change in evangelism: “The upcoming generation wanted to change . . . evangelism to a more Jewish context.” In a similar article, The Rise of Messianic Judaism, Catholic priest Peter Hocken characterized the new evangelistic approach as one which does not require Jews to separate from their former religion of Judaism:

“But Messianic Judaism properly so called, sees this evangelism within a different framework from the Evangelical mainstream. The crucial difference is that Messianic Judaism sees itself as still part of Israel, even if a rejected part, and thus acceptance of Jesus as the Messiah of Israel does not, or should not, involve a rejection of Judaism. By contrast, the classical Evangelical missions to the Jews see Jewish believers as ‘coming out’ of Israel into the Church; there is no ongoing identity with the whole of Israel. Thus, in the view of the Messianic Jews, they form ‘the saved remnant of Israel’.” 8.

Predictably, this non-threatening version of the gospel has facilitated alliances between Messianics and other inclusive variations on Christianity. Over the years, the leaders of the Messianic Movement have forged ties among those of like compromise and become major players in the worldwide ecumenical movement. Joel and David Chernoff, who served as presidents of the MJAA in 1979-1983 and 1983-1987 respectively, were speakers at Israel's Jubilee Celebration sponsored in 1998 by the Christian Alliance for Israel. The Chernoffs, whose father, Martin Chernoff, supervised the transition from the Hebrew Christian HCAA to the Messianic Jewish MJAA, shared the speaking platform at Israel's Jubilee with the following key figures in the ecumenical movement: Alan Keyes (CNP), John Hagee, Benny Hinn, Jay Sekulow (CNP) (ACLJ); Marty Goetz, Paul Zink (Roman Catholic); Wellington Boone (PK); Rabbi Robert Cohen, Jan Willem van der Hoeven (Christian Embassy), Tom Hess (CNP); Mahesh Chavada; Rick Joyner, Dan Juster (TIKKUN International) Ulf Eckman, Mike Bickle, Glen Campbell, George Otis (Sentinel Group), Sid Roth (Messianic Vision) and Stephan Strang (Charisma Magazine).

Daniel Juster, Ulf Eckman, Moishe Rosen and other JFJ officers are also popular speakers at conferences for the Lausanne Consultation on Jewish Evangelism [LCJE], the Messianic Jewish sector of the ecumenical Lausanne Consultation on World Evangelism [LCWE]. The chairman of the LCJE International, is Tuvya Zaretsky, Chief of Station of Jews for Jesus in Los Angeles. Tuvya Zaretsky also holds a position on the International Lausanne Committee.

The anti-Christian, pro-ecumenical position of the LCJE is becoming more apparent, as documented in our report on The Lausanne Consultation on Jewish Evangelism. Membership in the Lausanne Consultation on Jewish Evangelism requires agreement with the Lausanne Covenant, which was formulated at the International Congress on World Evangelization [ICOWE] in Lausanne, Switzerland in July of 1974. Article 5 of the Lausanne Covenant obligates signing parties to social and political action as well as evangelism: “. . .we affirm that evangelism and sociopolitical involvement are both part of our Christian duty.”

Rick Joyner’s prophecy at Messiah ’99 promotes the heretical view that God wishes to move the Church away from historic Christianity in the direction of Judaism. According to Joyner, Jewish converts who have never renounced their Jewish religion have much to offer the Christian Church. [the Babylonian Talmud?]

“. . .in the last five years God has begun to do something. He’s raising up a prophetic righteous remnant, that are calling the Church back to their Jewish roots. . .And you know I believe one of your ultimate callings, I personally believe and I may be saying this jealously, your ultimate calling is to the Church. To help us. To help us. We’re not going to get there without what you’ve got. And to be honest with you, I don’t think you really know what you’ve got yet. I really don’t. I don’t think it’s clear to you yet. I believe it’s getting clear. But we’re not going to get where we’re supposed to be without you.”

The rapprochement between Judaism and Christianity is nearing completion. A message from Bridges for Peace on the The Elijah List web site displays the following headline with a statement from Jewish rabbis applauding the shift in Christianity toward accommodation, rather than evangelization, of the Jews.

US RABBIS ISSUE TREATISE STRESSING TIES WITH CHRISTIANITY

Dozens of rabbis and Jewish scholars, saying that "Christianity has changed dramatically," have issued a broad treatise on Christianity and interfaith relations, stressing that Jews and Christians worship the same God and that Nazism was not a "Christian phenomenon."

The statement, called "Dabru Emet" ("Speak Truth"), was signed by more than 160 Orthodox, Conservative and Reform rabbis, and was published in an ad in The New York Times.

Since the Holocaust, the treatise said, Christianity has changed dramatically. An increasing number of official Church bodies, both Roman Catholic and Protestant, have made public statements of their remorse about Christian mistreatment of Jews and Judaism."

"We believe these changes merit a thoughtful Jewish response. Speaking only for ourselves - an interdenominational group of Jewish scholars - we believe it is time for Jews to learn about the efforts of Christians to honor Judaism. We believe it is time for Jews to reflect on what Judaism may now say about Christianity," said the statement, which was written by four Jewish theologians and released by the Institute for Christian and Jewish Studies in Baltimore. [Honor a belief system that rejects Jesus Christ?]

"It is historic," said Eugene Fisher, director of ecumenical and interreligious affairs of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops. The mainstream churches, he told The Jerusalem Post on September 8, are "changing their attitudes, doctrine, theology toward Jews and Judaism. This is a document that takes that into account."

"Jews need to learn what forms of Christianity are friendly and merit support, and to acknowledge that there are those in the Christian world who have devoted themselves to interfaith issues and taken risks to combat Christian antisemitism," said Rabbi David Sandmel, of the Baltimore institute, on September 8. In the Jewish world, there is "an ignorance of Christianity, a tendency to view the Christian world as monolithic and a tendency to view all Christians as antisemites and or as Nazis. That is part of the motivation behind this - to encourage Jews to take a deeper look at the Christian world." . . .

The statement covers overlapping layers of theological, historical and political ground. It said that Jews and Christians worship the same God.

"While Christian worship is not a viable religious choice for Jews, as Jewish theologians we rejoice that, through Christianity, hundreds of millions of people have entered into relationship with the God of Israel,"

PRAYER FOCUS: We thank God for this step toward better relationships between Christians and Jews. We pray that God will continue to work to break down the walls still existing between our peoples which we know grieves the heart of God. [Ecumenism]

SCRIPTURE: "How good and how pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!" (Ps. 133:1).

This statement, which represents Orthodox, Conservative and Reform Judaism, claims that "Jews and Christians worship the same God." [Really? Do the Jews worship Jesus Christ?] Furthermore, the Jewish rabbis perceive Roman Catholicism as a Christian body along with Protestants who hold Christianity responsible for the Holocaust. However, Christians who do not express this view or fail to recognize Judaism as a true religion are considered "anti-semites" or Nazis. The conclusion of the matter is that "Christian worship is not a viable religious choice for Jews" but "through Christianity, hundreds of millions of people have entered into relationship with the God of Israel." Christians who have thus surrendered their distinctive faith in Jesus Christ are considered "brothers" by the Jewish community.

This, we may assume, is the Spirit of Elijah!

In the final analysis, put bluntly, a dumbed-down Christian community has been outwitted by a global coalition of smart Jews. Although Christians and Jews are both awaiting the prophet Elijah, their underlying reasons for this expectation are radically different. While Christians await Elijah to fulfill chapter 11 of the book of Revelation, the Jews -- having rejected Jesus Christ and the ministry of John the Baptist as His forerunner as revealed in the New Testament -- are still looking for the fulfillment of Malachi 4:5,6!!!

Considering the present hype over pseudo-Elijah in Israel, the rampant misinterpretation of Bible prophecy and resulting confusion that has eclipsed the Christian community, a reality check is in order. It therefore seems appropriate to close this section of the report with Matthew Henry's Commentary on Malachi 4:4-6 which explains how John the Baptist fulfilled this prophecy:

4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

This is doubtless intended for a solemn conclusion, not only of this prophecy, but of the canon of the Old Testament, and is a plain information that they were not to expect any more sayings nor writing by divine inspiration, any more of the dictates of the Spirit of prophecy, till the beginning of the gospel of the Messiah, which sets aside the Apocrypha as no part of holy writ, and which therefore the Jews never received.

Now that prophecy ceases, and is about to be sealed up, there are two things required of the people of God, that lived then:--

I. They must keep up an obedient veneration for the law of Moses (v. 4) . . .

II. They must keep up a believing expectation of the gospel of Christ, and must look for the beginning of it in the appearing of Elijah the prophet (v. 5, 6): "Behold, I send you Elijah the prophet. Though the Spirit of prophecy cease for a time, and you will have only the law to consult, yet it shall revive again in one that shall be sent in the spirit and power of Elias," Luke i. 17. The law and the prophets were until John (Luke xvi. 16); they continued to be the only lights of the church till that morning-star appeared. Note, As God never left himself without witness in the world, so neither in the church, but, as there was occasion, carried the light of divine revelation further and further to the perfect day. They had now Moses and the prophets, and might hear them; but God will go further: he will send them Elijah. Observe,

1. Who this prophet is that shall be sent; it is Elijah. The Jewish doctors will have it to be the same Elijah that prophesied in Israel in the days of Ahab--that he shall come again to be the forerunner of the Messiah; yet others of them say not the same person, but another of the same spirit. It should seem, those different sentiments they had when they asked John, "Art thou Elias, or that prophet that should bear his name?" John i. 19-21. But we Christians know very well that John Baptist was the Elias that was to come, Matt. xvii. 10-13; and very expressly, Matt. xi. 14, This is Elias that was to come; and v. 10, the same of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger, ch. iii. 1. Elijah was a man of great austerity and mortification, zealous for God, bold in reproving sin, and active to reduce an apostate people to God and their duty; John Baptist was animated by the same spirit and power, and preached repentance and reformation, as Elias had done; and all held him for a prophet, as they did Elijah in his day, and that his baptism was from heaven, and not of men. Note, When God has such work to do as was formerly to be done he can raise up such men to do it as he formerly raised up, and can put into a John Baptist the spirit of an Elias.

2. When he shall be sent--before the appearing of the Messiah, which, because it was the judgment of this world, and introduced the ruin of the Jewish church and nation, is here called the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. John Baptist gave them fair warning of this when he told them of the wrath to come (that wrath to the uttermost which was hastening upon them) and put them into a way of escape from it, and when he told them of the fan in Christ's hand, with which Christ would thoroughly purge his floor; see Matt. iii. 7, 10, 12. That day of Christ, when he came first, was as that day will be when he comes again--though a great and joyful day to those that embrace him, yet a great and dreadful day to those that oppose him. John Baptist was sent before the coming of this day, to give people notice of it, that they might get ready for it, and go forth to meet it.

3. On what errand he shall be sent: He shall turn the heart of the fathers to their children, and the heart of the children to their fathers; that is, "he shall be employed in this work; he shall attempt it; his doctrine and baptism shall have a direct tendency to it, and with many shall be successful: he shall be an instrument in God's hand of turning many to righteousness, to the Lord their God, and so making ready a people prepared for him," Luke i. 16, 17. Note, The turning of souls to God and their duty is the best preparation of them for the great and dreadful day of the Lord. It is promised concerning John, (1.) That he shall give a turn to things, shall make a bold stand against the strong torrent of sin and impiety which he found in full force among the children of his people, and beating down all before it. This is called his coming to restore all things (Matt. xvii. 11), to set them to rights, that they may again go in the right channel. (2.) That he shall preach a doctrine that shall reach men's hearts, and have an influence upon them, and work a change in them. God's word, in his mouth, shall be quick and powerful, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Many had their consciences awakened by his ministry who yet were not thoroughly wrought upon, such a spirit and power was there in it. (3.) That he shall turn the hearts of the fathers with the children, and of the children with the fathers (for so some read it), to God and to their duty. He shall call upon young and old to repent, and shall not labour in vain, for many of the fathers that are going off, and many of the children that are growing up, shall be wrought upon by his ministry. (4.) That thus he shall be an instrument to revive and confirm love and unity among relations, and shall bring them closer and bind them faster to each other, by bringing and binding them all to their God. He shall prepare the way for that kingdom of heaven which will make all its faithful subjects of one heart and one soul (Acts iv. 32), which will be a kingdom of love, and will slay all enmities.

4. With what view he shall be sent on this errand: Lest I come and smite the earth, that is, the land of Israel, the body of the Jewish nation (that were of the earth earthy), with a curse. They by their impiety and impenitence in it had laid themselves open to the curse of God, which is a separation to all evil. God was ready to smite them with that curse, to bring utter ruin upon them, to strike home, to strike dead, with the curse; but he will yet once more try them, whether they will repent and return, and so prevent it; and therefore he sends John Baptist to preach repentance to them, that their conversion might prevent their confusion; so unwilling is God that any should perish, so willing to have his anger turned away. Had they universally repented and reformed, their repentance would have had this desired effect; but, they generally rejecting the counsel of God in John's baptism, it proved against themselves (Luke vii. 30) and their land was smitten with the curse which both it and they lie under to this day. Note, Those must expect to be smitten with a sword, with a curse, who turn not to him that smites them with a rod, with a cross, Isa. ix. 13. Now the axe is laid to the root of the tree, says John Baptist, and it is ready to be smitten, to be cut down, with a curse; therefore bring forth fruit meet for repentance. Some observe that the last word of the Old Testament is a curse, which threatens the earth (Zech. v. 3), our desert of which we must be made sensible of, that we may bid Christ welcome, who comes with a blessing; and it is with a blessing, with the choicest of blessings, that the New Testament ends, and with it let us arm ourselves, or rather let God arm us, against this curse. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all. Amen. 10.

The Elijah Revolution

Colossians 2:8

Lou Engel, Vice President of Rock the Nations and Call, D.C. Executive Director for Mobilization of Youth states that this event - in conjunction with the Promise Keepers Sacred Assembly of October 4, 1997 -- will be the fulfillment of Malachi 4:5-6:

The promised outpouring of dreams visited the lives of church fathers all through Christian history, including Augustine, St. Bernard of Clairveaux, and St. Therese. "Pilgrim's Progress" was revealed to John Bunyan in a dream, and the origins of John Newton's well-loved hymn, "Amazing Grace," also came from a dream he received!"

The five names listed as examples to be followed are not those of believer's to be exemplified. From the article "The 'god' In Every Man," we read about what a Theocracy involves and some of those who have held to that view. Included in that reference is a quote concerning Paul Bunyan.

"Theocracy of course falls in with the entire Dominionist, Restorationist, social gospel theology adhered to by many in 'christendom' today. From Joel’s army to the Christian Coalition to the likes of the Millstat Forum, all believe in a 'Christian theocracy.’ Another influence on Quaker doctrine was a group called the Familists or "the Family of Love". These were: 

"...followers of the Dutch merchant Hendrik Niclaes (circa 1502-c. - 1580), who were communitarians in life-style and mystics in theology... Members followed the pantheistic, antinomian teachings of Niclaes and were under his leadership. They professed Christian perfectionism influenced by Anabaptist teachings, but they renounced specific creeds, dogmas, and liturgies, calling for a mystical unity of believers inspired by divine love... Queen Elizabeth I condemned their books in 1580 and sought to jail the believers. They persisted, however, and King James I claimed they were responsible for the rise of Puritanism. It has been thought that John Bunyan received inspiration for his Pilgrim's Progress 1678- 84 from Niclaes's writings..." 18 

Authors Reeves and Gould, state that the ‘familists’ taught the deification of man. 

"...Ephraim Pagitt, in his heresiography (1645) similarly accuses the familists of teaching the deification of man as the Everlasting Gospel." 19

2 Timothy 2:3-5 

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

Paul Bunyan was a mystic and familiast. St Bernard of Clairvaux was the the Protector of The Knight's Templars in 1128. According to H.W. Koch, in his "A History of Prussia", 

"St. Bernard of Clairvaux, who had issued the Rule of the Templars to two knights, Hugo of Payens and Godfrey of St. Omer; rules closely modelled on St. Bernard's own order, in a spirit of profound Christian devotion and strict asceticism... St.Bernard called for recruits for the Templars."[p.1, Dorset Press, 1978] 

Clairvaux's order, called The Cistercians [http://www.cistercian-usa.org/history.htm] and also known as the white monks because of the wearing of white robes, are a monastic order which was not connected with Rome. That reason allowed them to unite with and became a refuge of the Celtic Church of St. Columba. In fact most of the Celtic abbies became Cistercian monasteries. These then, are some of the examples given to young people to follow. Referring back to Acts 2:18 we read, "...I will pour out in those days of my Spirit;" which could be an indication that the days of the Spirit will conclude at some point. Many believe the appearance of the anti-christ hinges on a removal of the Holy Spirit, whom many see as the restrainer. Those who read and listen to the gospel as found in the New Testament, not new revelation today, will not be deceived. 

2 Thessalonians 2:5-14 "Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Psalm 76:9-10 suggests God is the restrainer of wrath, " When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah. Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain."

Those seeking after signs and wonders, dream and prophesying's, which we know Scripturally were fulfilled prophecy in Acts 2, are leaving themselves wide open to acceptance of the show of power and signs and lying wonders of the "Wicked." These must mimic what took place at the pouring out of God's Spirit so that there will be the appearance that these workings are Gods validation. The illusion must appear to be no different than what took place to validate God's chosen apostles. 



Nazis or Nazarites or Simply Deceived



1 Peter 1:11,13-14

"Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; ...Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well."

Continuing with the evaluation of the Elijah Revolution information, under their section "Nazarites" is the article "Nazis or Nazarites". Part of the article reads:

"Revolutionaries live with blazing passion for their vision. They have no side issues. They influence society more than society influences them. God also has His revolutionaries who turn nations upside down. The Old Testament tells us about holy counter-culturals called Nazirites who did not cut their hair, drink wine or defile themselves in anyway. They could never be near a corpse - not even to attend the funeral of their own family members. John the Baptist, Samson and Samuel were all called to be lifelong Nazirites. Nazarites are God's answer to a nation in crisis, morally decayed and spiritually bankrupt. Nazirite consecration was extreme - but it was never legalistic. Nazirites were not to go near a dead body and I believe this represents staying away from "dead works" born of legalism and not love. Giving everything you have to the poor but having no love means nothing. Dying a martyr's death without love is just an empty gesture."

Jesus Christ is God's answer to a nation in crisis, and He is dealing with individuals. We cannot stop what God Himself states must be. We as Christians may live as examples, but we can't stop people from rejection of Christ and all the sinful living that entails.

Jude 3-4, 8

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ... Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

God is looking for wild men and women who will live with a fearless devotion to Him. John the Baptist lived in obscurity on the fringe of society. Yet his few short years of ministry and his controversial message shook the Jewish nation. Josephus, the Jewish historian, tells us that king Herod actually feared John because of his tremendous social and spiritual influence. John was not preaching in an air-conditioned auditorium or the palaces of his day, yet some estimate that 750,000 people went out to the desert to hear John during the 18 months of his preaching. That's 40,000 to 50,000 people a month! Nazirites refuse to live by society's quirks and demands. Exert peer pressure instead of responding to it. Then may influence like that of John the Baptist be yours, turning our world to God.

...A Nazirite and a Pharisee had much in common: both were zealous for God. Both fasted frequently. Both lived in separation and purity. Yet John, the greatest Nazirite of all, did not commend the Pharisees for their piety. He fiercely rebuked them. Why? They were filled with self-righteousness. We are often no different today. We appear to be spiritual, but we are only religious. We honor our traditions and miss God. As a young man I missed the Jesus Movement because I was religious. Signs and wonders were taking place all around me, and people were getting saved. But like the Pharisees who missed God when Jesus was right in front of their eyes, I missed God when the Jesus Movement swept through California. In fact, I left one Jesus People meeting in an angry mood, cursing God for what was happening there. I was the leader of my youth group, but I had no spiritual desire. I was not hungry for God.

....The prophet Amos condemns the society of his day for refusing to honor the holy calling of some young extremists. He rebuked the parents for not allowing the prophetic gift to explode in them. "I also raised up prophets from among your sons and Nazirites from among your young men...But you made the Nazirites drink wine and commanded the prophets not to prophesy. Now I will crush you as a cart crushes, when loaded with grain." (Amos 2:12-13) There is a curse that comes upon a nation when its young Nazirites are not allowed to fulfill their calling. To forbid holy extremism is to foster demonic extremism.

...The rise of neo Nazism in this nation, should greatly concern us. This deceptive ideology of hatred has already gained a foothold in our high schools. What God has done once, He will do again. Even as John called his generation to prepare for the physical coming of Jesus, so God is raising up young people who will prepare the earth for the Second Coming of our Lord.

You live in a season of history that your forefathers would have longed to see. Find out what God is doing in your generation and give yourself to it. David did this: "For when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep…" (Acts 13:36) So must you, for in every generation and dispensation, there is something that God wants to do. To miss it, is to miss the purpose of God for your life! God is again looking for Nazirites who will open the door for the next move of God. This responsibility may rest on one man or woman, or there may be many. Whether one or many, this generation is to be the hinge upon which all history hangs."

There could be much said about those statements. 1 Samuel 15: 23 "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry."

The whole writing is about reconstrucionist/dominionist tactics. God may use people, but He opens the door. He is the one who leads and directs a man's step. Yes, we need to be witnesses and set an example concerning moral issues. But our home is not here. 

Psalm 37:

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

Hebrews 13:14 

For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Those that think that this generation of young people is what our "fate" hinges on, are at the very least Biblically inaccurate and promoting "vanity of the mind." God is in control. And He will deal with all the injustices, sin and immorality. 

Ephesians 5:6

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
2 Thessalonians 1:6-9

Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;" 

Youth aren't to be placed in leadership positions. Paul wrote regarding leadership in 1 Timothy 3:6 ~ "Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into condemnation of the devil." It was a warning, for a young persons spiritual protection. 

Youth That Got Old

Like most false prophecies and teachings, there are contradictions. Youth aren't the only candidates for being Joel's Army and Elijah's Revolution. Paul Cain claims that as a young man he envisioned Joel’s Army in training and graduating to fill the stadiums by the thousands. At the 1995 Prophetic Power and Passion Conference in Alabama, Cain recounted his dream and that PK is the realization of his prophetic vision:

"And I had a dream that became a recurring dream, and it was about all the stadiums -- and we've told this hundreds and hundreds of times all across America, all over the world, in fact -- and I saw these stadiums and football fields, soccer fields and sports arenas, all of them filled with thousands and thousands of people, sometimes over 100,000 in each place."

Co-founder of PK, James Ryle, responded positively to a question whether Promise Keepers could be the fulfillment of the prophetic army in Joel 2: "Yes. . .300,000 men have come together so far this year under Promise Keepers. . .Never in history have 300,000 men come together except to go to war. These men are gathered for War."

Reminiscent of Charles Parham's "Christed Church", the Suitable Helpers newsletter for women participating in Promise Keepers stated in February of 1995: "Our Lord is calling out a great host of men ready and willing to become ‘Christs’ in their homes. In grand, bold sweeps, God is mustering an army."

Keynote speaker Wellington Boone, of Wellington Boone Ministries, a popular speaker at Promise Keepers rallies "declared Promise Keepers to be the fulfillment of Joel with the outpouring of God in the last days." [The ACCC Report, Dr. Ralph Colas, June 1997] 

Various "discernment ministries" reporting on the formation of Joel's Army have projected that this militaristic dominionist church is, not the fulfillment of Joel's prophecy, but rather a resurrection of Germany's Third Reich which will finish the job Hitler failed to accomplish. Al Dager warned on the inadvisability of religious-political coalitions: "We would do well to take a lesson from history and remember that Hitler made his plea for acceptance of Nazism based upon a platform of anti-communism, anti-homosexuality, patriotism and morality."9

The Christian Conscience [4/95] cited Richard Terrell's Resurrecting the Third Reich as a precedent for the future enlistment of Christians in a global S. S. --

"What was to take possession of the German consciousness was a militant romanticism . . . According to this way of thinking, the Divine Spirit is manifested in the spirit of a people, in their collective genius and total culture or Volkgeist . . . Germany developed a kind of communal mysticism which contained its own Teutonic concept of a chosen people, called to redeem civilization from its decadence . . . rallies were glorious pageants that stirred the emotions, which depended not on any revelation of Scripture, but on pure feeling . . . Even today, still photographs of these meetings have a powerful and gripping presence. . .The Volkish concept of the social organism was effectively symbolized in mass meetings that expressed a sense of eternity, awe, and mystery, effects stimulated by cathedral of light nighttime mass meetings in which antiaircraft lights sent brilliant shafts of illumination into the darkened sky.’ 

"Is Promise Keepers creating a new folk religion? The large mass rallies, the exaltation of emotion over reason, the lack of doctrinal integrity, the taking of oaths, the focus on fatherland and fatherhood, and the ecumenical inclusion of aberrant esoteric doctrines bears a disconcerting similarity to an era which gave rise to one of the most dreadful armies in history. The infiltration of Manifest Sons of God doctrines into Promise Keepers combined with New Age ideologies appears to create a new American folk theology: pantheism, the idolatry of self, the belief in a divine mandate to take the land, the superiority of a group, and the necessity of group hysteria."

Hideous visions of hordes of armed Christians come to mind as one reads these analyses of the current mobilization of the Church Militant. Most of us cannot envisage the typical Evangelical believer, however uninformed or undiscerning, provoked to such extreme violence. 

"Agents provocateur" are people who infiltrate an organization with the deliberate aim -- on behalf of a quite different organization -- of discrediting it. Many Evangelical, Pentecostal, Charismatic and other ecumenically minded leaders are members of the Council for National Policy, the 500+ member organization which plans the strategy of the Christian Right in the United States. Anyone who undertakes a study of the profiles of CNP founders and past/present officers will be shocked to find that nearly ALL are affiliated with such organizations as the Knights of Malta, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Unification Church of Sun Myung Moon, the Church of Scientology, Freemasonry, CIA-Nazi, the Church Universal & Triumphant, the Klu Klux Klan, Templeton Foundation, and other cults and subversive organizations. 

What's wrong with this picture? One can only apply or accept the view of the hordes of "christians" provoked to violence if those same hordes aren't really Christians.

2 Peter 2:1-3 "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even to denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall through through feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."
